I went down to Meadow lane yesterday to watch the mighty Notts County, we was robbed mate!
Notts County played Middlesborough in the 3rd round of the FA cup yesterday, for a full run down of the game go here.
This was my first visit to Meadow lane in some time and I've got to say, it was nice to be back. In all honesty I was expecting the boys to get a proper drumming but they were brilliant. 1 up after a couple of minutes and they managed to battle to keep the lead for over half the game. Even when Borough equalised, the pies got stuck in and continued to pile on the pressure.
Alas, the premier side got the better of Notts and converted a free kick with about 15 minutes to go. A last minute goal line clearance ensured Middlesborough passage to the next round.
The boys from Borough were extremely fortunate to make it through to the next round - Well done the pies, you should be proud.
Here's some county songs for you - see if you can fill in the blanks!
1. "We got Charlie Palmer, he smokes ............., la, la, la, la, la etc..."
2. Oh Kevin B, of Notts county, oh Kevin B of Notts County....." (I'm not sure about this one - Apparently, Kevin used to really like it)
3. "I had a wheelbarrow, ..................."
Yeading vs's. Newcastle this afternoon - Come on the Yeading!
